Pope Demetrius II of Alexandria served as a spiritual leader of the Coptic Orthodox Church during the 19th century, a period marked by significant social and political change in Egypt. As a presbyter and ecclesiastical authority, he provided pastoral guidance and theological leadership to the Coptic faithful during the reign of Muhammad Ali and his successors.
