Biography

Poul Scheel devoted his brief life to the healing arts, serving the people of Copenhagen as a physician whose diligence eased suffering in the years before his burial at Assistens Cemetery. He bore witness to the burdens of his era with compassion, attending to patients with a steady hand and a reassuring word.

Though he died at the age of thirty-eight, Scheel left behind grateful families whose lives were made gentler by his care, and his memory remains intertwined with the city’s efforts to nurture health and resilience.
