Prince Carl, Duke of Västergötland (1861–1951) was a member of the Swedish royal family whose life encompassed nearly nine decades of Swedish history. As a military officer, he served his nation with distinction during a period of significant European change.
The Prince's long life allowed him to witness the transformation of Sweden and Europe from the Victorian era through the post-war period. He was laid to rest at Kungliga begravningsplatsen, the royal burial ground, where he is honored as a member of Sweden's royal house.
