Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll, combined royal courtesy with artistic independence, training as a sculptor and championing architecture and handicraft throughout the British Isles and Canada.

She lent patronage to art schools and championed women students, sustaining creative communities while later taking her rest at St George's Chapel, Windsor.
