Princess Maria Immacolata of the Two Sicilies was born in 1874 into one of Europe's royal families. As a member of the Bourbon dynasty, she occupied an important place in European aristocratic circles and witnessed the dramatic transformations of the continent during her lifetime.
The Princess lived through the decline of traditional monarchical power and the rise of modern nation-states. She passed away in 1947 and was honored with burial in the Dresden Cathedral, one of Germany's most significant religious and cultural monuments.
