Biography

Prokofy Romanenko was a Soviet military officer who dedicated his career to service in the Red Army. He participated in the military development of the Soviet Union during a period of significant military modernization and expansion, serving through the 1920s, 1930s, and into World War II.

Romanenko died in 1949, in the early years of the Cold War era. His military service spanned some of the most consequential decades in Soviet military history. He was interred in Novodevichy Cemetery, a final resting place befitting his service to the Soviet armed forces.
