Biography

Pyotr Nilus was a significant Russian writer whose literary contributions reflected the intellectual and spiritual currents of late Imperial Russia. His works engaged with profound questions of faith, morality, and the destiny of the Russian people during a period of intense cultural ferment.

Following the Russian Revolution, Nilus emigrated to Paris, where he continued his literary and intellectual work within the Russian émigré community. He remained active in cultural circles until his death in 1943. He was laid to rest in Cimetière parisien de Bagneux, reflecting the substantial Russian presence in Paris during the émigré period.
