Biography
R. W. Stratton Jr. represented Glennallen with quiet conviction, championing rural infrastructure and ensuring that the remoteness of Alaska’s interior was never forgotten in state decisions. He believed in building roads, supporting small businesses, and keeping lines of communication open between bands of neighbors spread across vast distances.
When he was not at town meetings he was guiding youth on wilderness trails, sharing the stories of the Chugach mountains, and leaving behind a deep appreciation for Alaska’s rugged beauty.
