Biography
Ralph Lazo (1924–1992) followed his convictions to join friends in an internment camp for Japanese Americans, becoming a symbol of solidarity during one of the nation's darkest chapters. His choice to share their hardship, even without being subject to forced removal himself, inspired many and won him recognition as an unflinching advocate for justice.
After the war he continued to speak out for civil rights and the memory of those interned, and his story remains a powerful reminder of what moral courage can accomplish; he rests at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
