Biography
Reb Russell first gained fame as a hard-throwing pitcher whose athleticism and competitive spirit energized early 20th-century baseball fans. He later parlayed that fame into a second career in front of the camera, bringing the same intensity and sense of adventure to westerns that had once delighted viewers at the ballpark.
In his later years he remained grateful for the opportunities sport and entertainment had afforded him, and those who knew him remember a man whose zest for life was matched only by his humble devotion to family and community. Resting at Holy Cross and Saint Joseph Cemetery, he continues to inspire those who celebrate the bridging of two very different stages.
