Biography

Rebekah Colberg inspired Puerto Rican athletes with her remarkable achievements in track and field, tennis, and javelin, becoming the first woman from the island to earn international acclaim for her athleticism. Her success opened pathways for young women to pursue sports, and she remained a model of discipline, perseverance, and national pride.

Beyond competition she worked as an educator and public servant, constantly encouraging girls to imagine themselves as champions, and her legacy is honored beside the tranquil shores of Santa María Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery.
