Biography

Rem Cashow’s life unfolded during the peaceful years after the Revolution, a time when East Hillside and its surroundings were shaping new identities in America. Though little of his private history is recorded, he was part of the everyday tapestry of neighbors building steady lives.

He was buried in East Hillside Cemetery, among those whose ordinary diligence sustained their communities and preserved the calm renewal of the new republic.
