Biography
Richard Bache served his country with distinction in several public roles, most notably as Postmaster General, carrying forward the legacy of efficient communication and civic responsibility. The son-in-law of Benjamin Franklin, he maintained the same steady devotion to public good that characterized his family’s service.
He rests at Christ Church Burial Ground, where his contributions to the civic life of the city and the new nation continue to be recalled by those who visit the historic grounds.
