Born in 1870, Richard Chester Chester-Master carried with him a sense of duty that propelled him through the first years of the conflict, offering leadership and steadiness to those around him even as the war claimed more and more of his generation.
He rests now at Locre Hospice Cemetery, where the quiet slopes keep vigil over his sacrifice and the memory of the man who gave his life in 1917.
