Biography

As a United States Marine at Iwo Jima, Richard E. Bush threw himself onto a grenade to save fellow Marines, an act of courage for which he received the Medal of Honor.

After the war he remained devoted to his comrades and to veterans’ organizations, sharing the lessons of service with younger generations.
