Biography
Richard Hornsby of Grantham turned inventiveness into practical support for farmers, devising steam engines and agricultural machinery that eased labour and helped feed expanding cities.
He also cared for the people who worked in his workshops, encouraging education and mutual respect so that progress would lift the whole community.
