Biography
Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 6th Earl of Scarbrough, was a distinguished member of the English peerage who served his constituents and the nation with honor. Born in 1757, he witnessed and participated in some of the most transformative events of his era.
A politician of considerable standing, he maintained the traditions and responsibilities of his earldom throughout his lifetime. He passed away in 1832 and was laid to rest at the Church of St Helen in Saxby, where he is remembered as a dignified representative of his class and time.
