Biography

Richard Tasker Lowndes, Sr. lived from 1764 to 1840, a span of seventy-six years that encompassed the American Revolution and the early decades of the republic. He was a man of his time, witnessing and participating in the development of the young nation.

Lowndes was laid to rest at Addison Chapel Cemetery, where his memory is preserved. His long life and the care taken to record his legacy reflect the respect his community held for him.
