Richard Travis

Biography

Richard Travis, born in 1884, served with distinction in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, earning respect for his bravery and composure during perilous operations. His peers admired his steadfast character and willingness to stand with them through intense conflict.

He gave his life in 1918 amid the fighting in France; Couin New British Cemetery marks his resting place and commemorates the sacrifice of a soldier devoted to duty.
