Biography

Rimpū Sasakawa was an influential Japanese literary critic whose analytical perspectives and thoughtful commentary shaped discussions of literature and culture in early 20th-century Japan. His critical writings demonstrated deep insight into both classical and contemporary literary works.

Sasakawa's contributions to literary criticism and cultural discourse left a significant mark on Japanese intellectual life. He continued his critical work throughout his long life until his death in 1949 and was laid to rest at Somei Cemetery, where his legacy as a respected critic is preserved.
