Robert Battey

Biography

Dr. Robert Battey, born in 1828, earned the admiration of many as a compassionate physician whose care touched men and women across Georgia and the surrounding states. His willingness to serve in trying times, whether on the frontier or in settled towns, made him a trusted figure in both healing and community leadership.

He was laid to rest at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, where the grateful recollections of his patients and peers continue to offer comfort to those who pass by his grave.
