Robert Benjamin Hilton (1821-1894) was a South Carolina lawyer and statesman who served his state in Congress with dignity and a commitment to reconciliation following the turmoil of the Civil War.

He offered counsel to the communities around St. John's Episcopal Church and is remembered for the steady, compassionate leadership that marked his life and final resting place.
