Biography
Clifton McNeely, the first player ever chosen as the top pick in the 1947 basketball draft, chose to stay close to home and make an indelible mark on the sport through coaching and mentorship rather than pursuing professional stardom.
He guided young athletes with discipline and warmth, leaving a legacy of leadership on the court and in the classroom; Oak Grove Memorial Gardens is where he now rests.
