Robert G. Southall

Biography

Robert G. Southall studied law and built a respected practice before taking his talents to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he represented Virginia for more than a decade beginning in the early 1900s. He approached legislation with a careful, analytical mind and sought to give voice to the rural districts he cherished.

He advocated for improved schools, better roads, and sensible stewardship of public funds, always mindful that elected service is a solemn trust; those principles guided him until the end of his days.
