Robert H. Wyman

Biography

Robert H. Wyman (1822–1882) devoted much of his life to the defense of the Union and the well-being of those who served beside him, rising through the ranks of naval leadership with calm determination. His colleagues admired his steady judgment in the midst of conflict and his focus on preparing each ship for the challenges of the day.

He is interred at Oak Hill Cemetery, where the quiet hillside honors a naval officer who remained loyal to duty and to his men.
