Biography

Robert Pleasant Trippe was born in Georgia, trained in the law, and represented his state in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he navigated the fraught debates of the 1850s with a steady commitment to constitutional principles.

After the war he resumed his legal practice, served on Georgia's courts, and remained active in civic affairs until he was laid to rest in Forsyth City Cemetery.
