Biography
Robert Scott Lauder was a Scottish painter of historical and religious subjects whose canvases were praised for their rich colouring and compelling storytelling, and who kept a studio where younger artists could learn the craft.
His work was exhibited in Edinburgh and beyond, and he is remembered for mentoring a generation of painters while contributing to the cultural life of Warriston Cemetery and the city he served.
