Biography
Robert Stewart lived during the nineteenth century, a period of rapid industrial and social transformation in Scotland. Born in 1811, he came of age during the height of the Industrial Revolution, witnessing Glasgow's emergence as one of Britain's most important industrial cities.
Stewart's life concluded in 1866, and he was laid to rest in Glasgow Necropolis, the monumental cemetery that overlooks the city and serves as a testament to the achievements and prominence of Glasgow's citizens during the Victorian era.
