Robert Van Rensselaer

Biography

Robert Van Rensselaer, born in 1740, was a respected landowner and aristocrat whose prominence was matched by a sense of responsibility to those he led. His strong sense of stewardship shaped the rural landscapes he tended and the lives of the people who lived within them.

He was laid to rest in the grounds of Claverack Dutch Reformed Church in 1802, leaving behind a legacy of guidance and generosity.
