Biography

Robert William Rede was a notable figure whose life spanned much of the nineteenth century. Born in 1815, he witnessed and lived through a period of significant transformation in colonial Australia.

Rede's long life of eighty-nine years allowed him to observe the development of the colony through various stages of growth and change. He was remembered in the community and laid to rest at St Kilda Cemetery upon his death in 1904.
