Biography
Rodolfo P. Hernandez enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and, while serving near Kumhwa in February 1951, repeatedly exposed himself to enemy fire to defend his squad and destroy a machine-gun nest, actions that earned him the Medal of Honor.
Following his military service he returned to California, where he quietly supported fellow veterans, participated in civic events, and continued to cultivate the strong work ethic that had defined him as a soldier and citizen.
