Biography

Roger Atkinson Pryor (1828–1919) was a Virginia lawyer, orator, and statesman whose eloquence and commitment to public service shaped a nation in transition. He served with distinction in numerous capacities, including military leadership and the federal judiciary, and he later devoted himself to the written word, interpreting the tumultuous pages of American history for new generations.
