Rösel Meyer

Biography

Rösel Meyer (1738–1803) was a member of Berlin's Jewish community during the late 18th century. She lived during a significant period in the history of German-Jewish life and was buried at the Jüdischer Friedhof Berlin-Mitte.

Meyer's long life of 65 years spanned the middle decades of the 18th century, a time of gradual social and legal changes affecting Jewish communities in Prussia. Her burial at this important cemetery reflects her place within Berlin's established Jewish society.
