Biography
Rosina Brandram, born in 1845, became one of the leading contraltos of the Savoy Opera, enchanting audiences with her warm tone and dignified stage presence in Gilbert and Sullivan productions. Her performances were marked by both vocal richness and an innate sense of comic timing, which endeared her to spectators across the country.
She later devoted herself to mentoring young singers, ensuring the continuation of her beloved repertory, and her memory is lovingly preserved at the City of London Cemetery and Crematorium.
