Biography

Ross Bass served Tennessee with distinction as a congressman and later as a United States senator, bringing a measured voice to the halls of Congress during the 1950s and 1960s. He championed economic development and education initiatives that reflected the needs of his constituents.

Even after leaving federal service, he remained engaged in public affairs, offering counsel to younger leaders and supporting civic projects. Maplewood Cemetery holds his remains along with the memory of his devotion to public service.
