Biography
Ruffin Pleasant served as governor of Louisiana during the years of the First World War, leading the state with a steady hand while overseeing the mobilization of resources and the strengthening of public institutions. After leaving office he returned to the law, continuing to advise his community with the same integrity he exhibited in Baton Rouge.
His leadership is fondly recalled at Forest Park East Cemetery, where his dedication to the people of Louisiana remains a guiding example.
