Rufus Young King

Biography

Rufus Young King, born in 1830, was a member of a generation that faced enormous societal change yet remained committed to the values of honesty and loyalty. Through his family ties and local friendships he remained a stabilizing presence in the North Belton area and beyond.

King’s spirit lives on in the good deeds he quietly performed, and the community that still honors his memory at North Belton Cemetery.
