Biography

S. Thruston Ballard built the Ballard & Ballard distillery into a major employer, combining craftsmanship with a commitment to quality whiskey that became a source of local pride and prosperity.

He served on boards of charitable organizations, supported agricultural fairs, and insisted that business success should be matched with support for schools and churches; he rests today at Cave Hill Cemetery.
