Biography

S. W. T. Lanham devoted his life to public service for the people of Texas, representing rural communities in Congress and later serving as governor, always speaking up for the needs of farmers and families.

His long-standing interest in education made him a friend of Texas A&M University, where he encouraged the institution's role in preparing the next generation of citizens and civic leaders.
