Biography

Salomon Spitz was a prominent member of Brno's Jewish community, living from 1833 to 1912. His long life spanned much of the 19th century, a period of gradual emancipation and social change for Jewish communities across the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Spitz's legacy is commemorated in the Jewish cemetery in Brno, where he rests among other members of the community he was part of for nearly eight decades.
