Biography

Samuel Evans was a printer whose craft placed him among the skilled artisans and tradespeople who formed the backbone of nineteenth-century commerce. Born in 1793, he witnessed the transformation of printing technology and the expansion of literacy throughout his lifetime, contributing to the dissemination of knowledge and ideas.

Evans passed away in 1856, his life's work having helped to shape the intellectual landscape of his era. He was laid to rest at the Tabernacle Welsh Baptist Chapel, reflecting his religious convictions and his place within the Welsh nonconformist community.
