Biography

Samuel Insull (1859–1938) devoted his career to building reliable public utilities, helping to bring electricity and organized transport to many American cities. His leadership inspired confidence among workers and the communities that depended on the services he guided.

Though his life saw highs and lows, he found peace in retirement and is laid to rest at Putney Vale Cemetery where he is remembered for his far-reaching civic vision.
