Biography
Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita was a Dutch painter of considerable talent whose artistic career spanned several decades of the twentieth century. His work contributed to the rich cultural heritage of the Netherlands during a period of significant artistic development.
De Mesquita's life was tragically cut short by his imprisonment and murder at Auschwitz II-Birkenau. His death represents an immeasurable loss to the world of art and culture, one of countless victims whose potential was extinguished by the Holocaust.
