Samuel McClellan

Biography

Samuel McClellan (1730–1807) was a man whose life extended through the Revolutionary era and into the early years of American independence. Living for seventy-seven years, he witnessed the transformation of the thirteen colonies into a new nation and the establishment of American institutions.

McClellan's burial at Woodstock reflects his connection to New England communities during a period of significant growth and change. His long life provided him with the perspective of someone who lived through one of history's most consequential periods of American development.
