Samuel P. Hoyt

Biography

Samuel P. Hoyt (1807–1889) is remembered as one of the pioneers whose name became woven into the history of Hoytsville, Utah, and his grave there anchors that familiar surname in the town's story.

He lived through the era of western expansion and, though the finer details of his vocation elude the surviving record, successive generations continue to gather in Hoytsville Cemetery to tend to the Hoyt family plots.
