Biography

Sándor Basilides was an accomplished Hungarian painter whose artistic works contributed to the visual culture of 20th-century Hungary. Born in 1901, he pursued his artistic vision during a period of creative exploration in Hungarian art.

Basilides' paintings reflected the aesthetic sensibilities and technical mastery characteristic of Hungarian artists of his generation. Through his artistic endeavors, he helped enrich Hungary's cultural heritage. He passed away in 1980 and was laid to rest in Farkasréti Cemetery in Budapest.
