Biography

Sarah Ann Eliza Dorrett was born in 1819 and died in 1826, living only seven years during the early colonial period. Though her life was brief, she was afforded burial in South Park Street Cemetery, one of Calcutta's most distinguished burial grounds.

Her short existence reflects the challenging conditions faced by many children in nineteenth-century colonial India.
