Biography

Sarah Taintor Foote (1791–1827) was a woman of the early American republic whose life was marked by the social circumstances of her era. Though details of her personal accomplishments remain limited in historical records, she represents the many women whose lives shaped their families and communities during this formative period in American history.

Sarah's life, though brief at thirty-six years, was spent in Ohio during a time of significant westward expansion and settlement. Her burial at Spring Grove Cemetery reflects her connection to the Cincinnati area and the growing communities of the Ohio Valley during the early nineteenth century.
