Biography

Schmuel Schmelka Kornitzer was a rabbi who served the Jewish community with dedication and spiritual leadership. Born in 1905, he worked to maintain Jewish religious and cultural traditions during an increasingly difficult period for European Jewry.

Rabbi Kornitzer's ministry represented the rich Jewish spiritual life that flourished in Poland before World War II. He died in 1941, a tragic loss during the Holocaust. His memory is honored at the New Jewish Cemetery, a sacred space preserving the memory of Poland's Jewish heritage.
