Biography

Schomberg Kerr McDonnell spent his early years behind a lens, translating everyday moments and the dignity of ordinary people into photographs that preserved warmth and character.

As the Great War engulfed the continent, he turned that steady eye toward the men around him, documenting service and sacrifice even as he faced the dangers of 1915; he now rests at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery.
